The spinning wheel is an encompassing metaphor for history - the wheel representing recurrence, the cyclical motion of time. The emerging thread sepresenting progress, motion forward, growth. We drew on both these metaphors to create this vivid work, representative of the kala ghoda festival.
first we try to capture, through this cluster of wheels, the continuous spin of effort that goes into artistiv creation, into making a festival like kala ghoda happen, and happen again, year after year. second, the accumulation of this effort, with every artist, work, and stall, combining into a whole, a woven mountain of work. and third, each thread, individually visible as it darts and weaves between spokes, symbolic of the many interacting hands that meet, twist, knot, and diverge in the creating of this festival.
